The entire community is invited August 29 to the first Hiawatha Street Dance in Sturtevant.
Hosted by the Hiawatha Bar & Grill, 9809 Durand Avenue, the dance will be held from 1 to 11 p.m. and is a community-building event that will also raise money for the Sturtevant Fireworks.
A number of family-friendly activities are planned from 1 p.m. until dusk, including visiting horses kids can groom and pet. There will also be a dunk tank, a bounce house, and face painting, and proceeds from those stations will help support the 2016 Sturtevant Fireworks.
Live music begins at 2 p.m. featuring Brian Daniels, the Brecken Miles Project, Groth Bros & Friends, and Final Approach.
There is no cover charge to attend the dance, but partygoers are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs to enjoy the music.
