Racine police say a 32-year-old woman is facing charges of violating a restraining order against her when she went to her ex-boyfriend’s house and caused a scene.
The woman is not being named to protect the identity of the man and his family. She was charged Friday in 
Racine County Circuit Court with a handful of misdemeanor charges including single counts of violating a restraining order, disorderly conduct and three counts of bail jumping. If convicted, she faces up to 3-1/2 years in prison and/or up to $41,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called Thursday to a home on the west side of town for a report of a woman standing outside the house yelling obscenities and profanities through a window and attracting the unwanted attention of neighbors. The man inside the home recorded the woman for approximately six minutes, and the woman is seen on the video admitting she knows she’s being recording but continuing her behavior anyway.
Police say the man told them the woman is his ex-girlfriend and there has been domestic violence between them in the past. He and a relative with whom he lives have a restraining order against the woman which she was knowingly violating by being outside the house. The woman is seen yelling, “Grandma, I don’t mean to disrespect you, but (the man) is a (expletive).”
Officers went to the woman’s house, and she refused to come outside. The owner of the home is also the father of the woman’s children, and he told police he was reluctant to let them in because if the woman were to go to jail, he wouldn’t have anyone to watch his kids while he went to work, the complaint reads.
The woman once again looked out a window and police say they explained the purpose of their visit. She told them she was sorry, that she wouldn’t do it again and she was going to bed. Eventually, though, she did come outside and was taken into custody. The woman told police she was still angry at the man for assaulting her in the past and that’s why she went to his home.
Similar charges were filed against the woman August 4, and online court records indicate she was out of jail on a $500 cash bond and ordered to not have any contact with the man, his residence or any members of his family.
She remains in the Racine County Jail on a $2,500 cash bond and will next be in court August 24 for a status conference.
