The Szymczak family of Caledonia scored points for healthy living with a visit from Green Bay Packers’ all-time leading receiver, Donald Driver.
The “Dancing with the Stars” champion and four-time children’s book author visited the Szymczak family to congratulate them for winning the 2015 Driven to Better Health family contest sponsored by Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
The Szymczak’s were chosen from 1,700 Wisconsin families who participated in the program by posting photos of how they lead healthy and active lives. The family of four planned, planted and tended a vegetable garden – winning active time together outdoors, stronger family ties and healthy organic veggies for family meals and snacks.
Driver and Children’s Hospital established the program to promote active and healthy lifestyles to Wisconsin’s youth through school- and family-based events. Registration for the next school challenge will open Sept. 15 at driventobetterhealth.com.
