Area families are invited to Georgie Porgie’s Saturday for a day of fun and giving.

The annual Family Fun Day is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the restaurant, 5502 Washington Avenue, and is free to attend.

In addition to enjoying visits from the Racine Zoo and members of the Mount Pleasant Police Department K9 unit, face painting, karate demonstrations and more, families are encouraged to bring school supplies to help Racine Unified students start the school year with the items they’ll need to do well in class.

Anyone who brings a donation of school supplies will receive a coupon for a free kids cone at the restaurant.

“This is a great opportunity to get members of the community out for a free and fun event before getting into the back-to-school routine,” restaurant Manager Joshua Begin said in a written statement. “We are also collecting school supplies to benefit the Racine Unified School District and that makes us both excited and proud.”

A lucky winner of a free burger of the month for a year will also be announced.

Here’s the schedule of what the Family Fun Day entails:

  • Inflatables & Carnival Games: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
