Ghosts, goblins, vampires, mummies and various incarnations of favorite animated characters and superheroes will take to the streets in just a few short weeks.

Trick-or-treat in the City of Racine is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Villages of Caledonia, Mount Pleasant and Sturtevant.

Halloween falls on Saturday this year.

Trick-or-treat in Sturtevant will lead into the annual costume contest and bonfire at 7:30 p.m. at Fireman’s Park on Charles Street.

Trustees in Caledonia Sturtevant voted through a new village ordinance to preserve trick-or-treat from 5 to 7 p.m. every year. In Sturtevant, the costume contest and bonfire on Halloween following trick-or-treat was also part of the ordinance.
