The Chancery Restaurant is getting a new name as of Tuesday but may not be open for much of the fall.
Parent company DeRosa Corporation sold the eatery,207 Gas Light Drive, to Graves Hospitality out of Minnesota at the same time Graves purchased the attached Harbourwalk Hotel from the Radisson Group, according to a story from the Milwaukee Business Journal.
DeRosa will still operate four Southeast Wisconsin Chancery locations and its Jose’s Blue Sombrero on Washington Avenue in Mount Pleasant.
CEO Joe DeRosa is quoted as saying a downturn in lakeside business prompted the sale and that the hotel group could manage the restaurant more effectively.
The Chancery is expected to close at the end of the month to undergo extensive renovations and rebranding, a story in The Journal Times reads. It could reopen by the end of the year.
We will update this story when messages to Graves Hospitality are returned.
