(Photo credit: Flicker.com/photos)A man, who used heroin while he was driving, passed out, crossed over into traffic and crashed his car at 7:25 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8 on the east frontage road south of Highway 20, according to a press release by the Racine County Sheriff’s Office.

After passing out, the car the man was in went into the westbound lane on Highway 20, crossed through a closed westbound turn lane for Interstate 94 and crashed into a construction site. The car struck a pile of extra lumber, which damaged the car. The car “came to a rest in the median after crossing the intersection during rush hour traffic.”

The man, whose name has not been released yet, had a used needle in his lap when deputies responded to the scene. Unresponsive, but still breathing the deputy used two doses of Narcan on him to counteract the heroin. After giving him the medication, the man became responsive and rescue workers from the Union Grove-Yorkville Fire Department transported the man to the emergency room at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Hospital.

After being treated and released, the man was arrested for driving under the influence, several other traffic citations and drug charges.
