A 14-year-old girl who was shot at 8:23 p.m. Thursday has died from her wound(s).

The incident occurred in the 1000 block of Albert St., according to a press release from the Racine Police Department.

Rescue crews from the Racine Fire Department transported the girl to Wheaton Franciscan St. Mary’s where Flight for Life picked her up for transport to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee, but she did not survive.

This is an ongoing investigation, and there are persons of interest who have been identified.
