Racine Police are searching for Keller Mcquay, a 14-year-old boy, that has become a person of interest in the shooting death of his girlfriend Vista Jackson at 8:20 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10 at residence in the 1000 block of Albert St.
Jackson, who suffered from a single gunshot wound, was a student at Horlick High School. Rescue crews from the Racine Fire Department transported the girl to Wheaton Franciscan St. Mary’s where Flight for Life picked her up for transport to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee, but she did not survive.
Stacy Tapp, spokesperson for Racine Unified, said a crisis team was notified about Jackson’s death Thursday night.
“Crisis staff have been at the school all day to provide support for students and staff,” Tapp said. “We will continue to provide for all as long as they need it. Our hearts go out to the family and the Horlick family as well.”
Investigators with the Racine Police Department want to talk with McQuay about the investigation. However, police are warning the public that if they see him to not approach him because they believe he may be armed and dangerous.

A candlelight vigil will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12 in the 1000 block of Albert St. Attendees are being asked to wear either orange or purple to the vigil.
The women’s resource Center staff and advocates also plan to be at the vigil to offer their support to Jackson’s friends and family members. Advocates will also be on call 24 hours a day at (262) 633-3233.
