Racine? Kenosha? Union Grove? Which community is the most compassionate? From now through September 21, residents are challenged to commit and report acts of kindness as part of the Compassion Games; Survival of the Kindness.
Compassion Games International encourages compassionate actions in communities around the world. Sponsored locally by the non-profit Peace Learning Circles of Kenosha and Racine, the games kicked off with a special showing of Kindness is Contagious at the Golden Rondelle on September 11.
Individuals or teams of family members, friends, co-workers, businesses, organizations and churches are encouraged to join this unique “coopetition” under the team name, Southeastern Wisconsin. Peace Learning Circle Executive Director, Sue Hollow, challenged Racine Mayor John Dickert to register a Racine team for the games, and to encourage officials in neighboring communities to register their own teams.

The closing ceremony for the Compassion Games will take place September 21 at the Kenosha Gateway Campus and feature a keynote address by Pardeep Kaleka, son of the Sikh Temple Gurdwara leader and Co-founder of Serve 2 Unite. Organizers are looking for cheer leading squads to join a coopetition as part of the program.
