Our friends at Sebastian’s in Caledonia have been named to the annual Top 30 list by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Respected columnist Carol Deptolla compiles her annual list of top restaurants in Southeast Wisconsin, and bases her choices on a number of criteria.
“When it comes to assembling the annual Top 30, I’m looking for restaurants that are vibrant and inspired; they have a certain something that charms me,” she wrote in her introduction.
And while it might seem like a relatively easy job, Deptolla takes her list seriously and says choosing the eateries can be difficult because so many are so good.
“It can be maddening, comparing apples with oranges, but ultimately I considered how well a restaurant achieved what it set out to do and, basically, how satisfying the experience was, considering the full picture of the restaurant,” she explained.
In her description , Sebastian’s,6025 Douglas Avenue, in Caledonia was named because of a well-delivered package of excellent service, inviting atmosphere and delicious food.
“Sebastian’s knows how to welcome its guests. When people choose a restaurant based on how it makes them feel, not just how it makes them full, hospitality is no small matter. The dining room is inviting, the service is seasoned and dinner is made with care,” Deptolla said about the restaurant.
