Eagles, Rebels and Panthers fans should all have something to cheer about during the boys basketball season.
The J.I. Case High School Eagles finished last year in a three-way tie for first place in the Southeast Conference, making it to the division sectional where they lost by a point to West Allis Central, a story in The Journal Times reads.
Despite having top talent like Da’Rion King graduate in 2015, the team has a deep roster with a talented bench that should carry them to the top again.
The William Horlick High School Rebels should also do well this season after sharing the SEC first place tie with Case last year. They lost to West Allis Central in the regional championship, the newspaper story continues.
Several younger players will fill starting positions left vacant by graduations, reporter Peter Jackal notes, because Coach Jason Treutelaar has experience grooming upcoming talent.
Over at Washington Park, the Panthers have senior Kaj Days and his brother, freshman Nobal Days, both of whom have height and experience on the court. Still, there is also senior Preniss McGowan – a starter since he was a freshman – and at least two other freshman who have what it takes to start.
The Panthers finished in third place last season, but Jackal believes the team could take everyone by surprise and come out on top this year.

7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1: Case vs. East Troy at Case
7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4: Park vs. Indian Trail at Park
7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11: Horlick vs. Case at Horlick
The road to state begins with regionals on March 1, 4, and 5 followed by sectionals on March 10 and 12. The state tourney is March 17-19, 2016 in Madison.
