_DSC6962The man who shot himself at a Caledonia shooting range died Monday at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare.

William Newberry, 27, of South Milwaukee, died from a gunshot wound to the chest that happened at Shooter’s Sports Range, 4900 6 Mile Rd., said Lt. Gary Larsen, of the Caledonia Police Department.

“He suffered from depression,” Larsen said.

Newberry was taken by ambulance to the hospital just after 3:30 p.m. Still alive, Newberry was expected to be taken to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee from Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare — All Saints in Racine.

However, he later died from his injuries at Wheaton Franciscan.
