Two people suffered non-life threatening injuries Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Ramona Drive and Spring Street after one of the drivers failed to yield.
Mount Pleasant police and South Shore Fire Department were called at 1:37 p.m. for a report of a two-vehicle crash. When officers arrived on scene they closed Spring Street until the accident could be cleared away.
Rescue crews determined that the driver and passenger of one car required medical attention for non-life threatening injuries and transported them to Wheaton Franciscan St. Mary’s.
Traffic investigators say one car was traveling east when the 38-year-old female driver attempted a left turn in front of an oncoming vehicle, causing the accident. That driver was cited for failure to yield.
