Goose and his litter of six siblings are three months old, full of rambunctious energy and ready to find their furever homes.
The kittens being born took their family by surprise so they were surrendered to the Wisconsin Humane Society so they could find new homes.
Potential furfamilies often ask WHS if the holidays are a good time to bring a pet into their home, WHS spokesperson Angela Speed said.
“Contrary to popular belief, adoptions during the holidays, or even gift adoptions, make for very successful placements,” she explained. “Research finds that the attachment to a pet adopted as a gift adoption is no different than a traditional adoption, and return rates of animals adopted during the holidays at WHS are no different than any other time of the year.”
Similar to summer, families during the holidays often taking a few days of vacation, giving them the time they need to acclimate a new pet.
“During the holiday season, many families have vacation time and are able to spend more time helping their new arrival adapt, so it can be a perfect time to adopt!” Speed added.
