Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3319 Washington Ave., has been put up for sale.
Built in 1913, the church congregation is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and was founded by several Danes.
Listed by Shorewest Realty for $250,000, the description indicates the church is ready for “a new congregation.”
The church — founded by a number of Danes — has long kept the tradition of making Aebleskivers, a Danish pancake, and serving Lutefisk, a dried whitefish.
The church just got a new pastor and is still having services. We’ll update the story with more information when we get it.
Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2219 Washington Ave., sold last week to a Kenosha-based catering and banquet company.
