A proposed Kwik Trip gas station and convenience store on the northwest corner of Spring Street and Highway 31 is moving forward after the Mount Pleasant Planning Commission unanimously approved it Wednesday.
The project is designed for last just west of the existing old Trautwein schoolhouse building; it’s address will be 4924 Spring Street. Three existing homes will be purchased and razed to make way for the new gas station.
At 6,000 square feet, Kwik Trip representatives told The Journal Times the store is considered medium-sized and will employ between 20 and 25 people.
The store and fueling canopies will be built facing east to lessen the impact on nearby residents, the story continues.
Kwik Trip will be across the street from the recently approved Willkomm Company’s gas station/convenience store/restaurant development.
