A Racine man was caught with large stashes of psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana butter, according to court records, leading to several felony charges.
Richard C. Nelson, 34, was arrested Monday morning, after agents with the Racine County Metro Drug Unit searched his home in the 600 block of College Avenue. They used a key to get in, and found Nelson inside.
During the search, the criminal complaint states, agents found more than 3,000 grams of marijuana, including bags and jars of plant material, a brown dough-like material that tested positive for marijuana, a marijuana butter material, and marijuana wax. They also found blotter paper that tested positive for LSD and three mason jars containing 67.5 grams of psilocybin mushrooms.
Agents found pills – including morphine and oxycodone – for which Nelson did not have a prescription in the apartment, the complaint states, as well as a digital scale, packaging materials and $1,078 in currency.
Nelson is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of psilocybin with intent to deliver, possession of LSD with intent to deliver, possession of narcotics with intent to deliver, possession of schedule iv drugs with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a drug trafficking place.
He is in custody on a $25,000 bond. His preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday.
