Investigators with the Racine County Sheriff’s Department say a 22-year-old man already out on bond for running a drug house near a park is facing new charges after a relative found pot in a backpack at their home.
William Mueller, of Racine, was charged Tuesday in Racine County Circuit Court with one felony count each of marijuana possession with the intent to deliver and maintaining a drug trafficking place as well as one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, he faces up to seven years in prison and/or up to $10,500 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint, a man on March 11 of this year called Sturtevant police to report a backpack with a large amount of marijuana was found at his residence and that it most probably belonged to Mueller. The man told officers that he was in the process of getting a divorce, and his wife, her daughter, and Mueller were moving out.
Police say they pulled just under 200 grams of marijuana from the backpack as well as a digital scale, baggies, pipes, wrappers and a video camera.
Mueller signed a $10,000 signature bond on these charges and will next be in court Jan. 13 for his preliminary hearing.
He is also out on bond on felony drug charges filed against him and his cousin in May after officers with the metro drug unit raided a home on Spring Street near a park. Mueller was originally assigned a $10,000 cash bond, but online court records indicate his bond was reduced to $3,500 on June 8.
Mueller plead not guilty on June 3 and posted bond on June 16. He is scheduled for a plea hearing on Jan. 12.
