Joshua VallinA  boy was charged as an adult Tuesday by the Racine County District Attorney‘s Office with two counts of attempted second-degree intentional homicide after two people were shot outside a Racine bar.

Joshua Vallin Jr., 17, of Racine, was charged with two felonies after a man was found shot in the chest and another man was shot in his leg outside Ro jo’s Pub, 1317 Yout St. on Jan. 10. If convicted of both charges, Vallin Jr. faces up to 60 years in prison.

Vallin Jr. is being held on a $100,000 cash bond.

According to the criminal complaint, Racine Police were called to a report of a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest. The man told police that he was shot while he was outside the bar and he didn’t know the person who shot him.The man was taken to Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints emergency room.

A second man went to the emergency room with a gunshot wound to his leg. He told police he too had been shot outside Rojo’s Pub.

A bartender told police that the man walked into the bar and told her he had been shot. As he was showing them the bullet wound to his chest, the bartender told police she heard several more gunshots coming from Charles St.

A video showed that several people were standing in front of the bar when an argument broke out between a woman and Vallin Jr.. The two argued in the street and Vallin Jr. was seen running on the opposite side of the street. Stopping, Vallin, who had a handgun, fired at the two men.

Vallin was at the hospital the night of the shooting in the waiting room at the emergency room. When officers saw the video, they recognized Vallin and arrested him at his home in the 1500 block of Erie St.

A preliminary hearing was set for 9:30 a.m. Jan. 27.
