After getting hit by a car on Christmas Eve and suffering some pretty serious injuries, Joey is on the mend and ready to find his furever home.

Joey is a three-year-old German Shepherd mix, and his injuries included a deep laceration on his rear end, which required surgical repair but is now mostly healed. He also had several abrasions on his hind legs and his nose, which may or may not return to its normal black color.

“Joey could care less, though – he’s feeling great, loves to play and can’t wait to go home with a new loving guardian!” WHS spokesperson Angela Speed said.

The best home for Joey will not include little kids because Joey is very sensitive about his feet, and small children might not understand or remember to not handle his paws.

If you are interested in adopting Joey, please call the Wisconsin Humane Society at (262) 554-6699.
