A Racine man, who was set to turn himself in on federal charges, was charged with felony drug charges after the Racine Police Department Special Investigations Unit found drugs in his house.
Raymond Miller Jr., 23, was charged by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office with possession with intent to deliver heroin (second offense) and possession with intent to deliver cocaine (second offense), according the DA’s office.
If convicted, Miller faces up to 33 years in prison and/or fined up to $50,000.
According to the criminal complaint, the Racine Police Department Special Investigations Unit conducted a search warrant at a condominium at 3114 Northwestern Ave., unit 2. During the search, officers found a bag containing several smaller bags containing heroin and cocaine, cash, a razor blade, and scissors.
Investigators learned that Miller Jr. was “waiting to turn himself into federal authorities” on March 1 so that he could serve a federal prison sentence for selling controlled substances. But court records showed that Miller was convicted of sex trafficking of children or by force in federal court on Aug. 6, 2015.
Miller is being held on a $1,000 cash bond. He is expected to have a preliminary hearing at 8:30 a.m. March 2 in front of Racine County Court Commissioner Alice Rudebusch.
