A Caledonia girl is being treated for non-life threatening injuries after she was struck by a car at 6:13 p.m. Sunday on Douglas Avenue and 4 Mile Road.

A 62-year-old Racine woman was driving eastbound on 4 Mile Road when she struck the girl, who was running across 4 Mile Road with another girl. The second girl was not injured, but she and the 12-year-old girl were wearing dark clothing at the time. Witnesses told police that the woman had the green light, according to a press release by the Caledonia Police Department.

The driver of the car was cooperative with police and no impairment is suspected.

The injured girl was taken to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
