Easter Egg - for RCE

Easter weekend is here. It includes candy eggs, live music and family events all over Racine County. Real Racine has some great ideas.

An egg-sellent time! The Racine Zoo, 2131 N. Main St., promises lions, tigers and candy-filled eggs at its annual Egg-Stravanganza Easter Event on Saturday. Bring the family to the zoo from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to hunt for special goodie-filled eggs, play bunny-themed games, make delicious snacktivities, create bunny crafts and meet the animal ambassadors. Regular zoo admission applies (adults, $4; seniors, $3.50 and kids ages 3 to 15 years old, $3.) Photos with the Easter Bunny are just $4. For details, visit www.racinezoo.org

Two more chances. The annual Big Bunny Celebration and Easter Egg Hunt wraps up at Apple Holler Farm, 5006 S. Sylvania Ave. Remaining shows are at 1:45 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday. It includes an interactive puppet show, an apple orchard tour on the Big Bunny Express, an egg hunt, a pony ride, games, treats and a photo with the Bunny himself. Admission is $9 per person. Reservations are a must. Call 262-886-8500 or visit www.appleholler.com

Big band, big jazz. Jean’s Jazz Series continues at 7 p.m. Saturday with the Shout Section Big Band. This group, with a big swing sound, takes the stage at the Racine Theatre Guild, 2519 Northwestern Ave. Tickets are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors and $5 for students. The PEEPS are here. You’ll see incredible art made from – and inspired by – PEEPS marshmallow candies at the Racine Art Museum’s 7th Annual International PEEPS Art Exhibition. This year’s show has 123 entries from more than 154 artists. See the PEEPS through April 3 at the Racine Art Museum, 441 Main St., from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 12 to 5 p.m. Sunday (except Easter). Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for youth and seniors. For a PEEPS preview, visit www.ramart.org
