The man accused of breaking into a Sturtevant home and raping a woman while her husband was forced to drive to nearby ATM machines to withdraw money has plead guilty to two of the three felony counts against him.
Omar Aldape, 20, was charged in February 2015 with 1st degree sexual assault; armed burglary, party 
to a crime; and armed robbery with use of force as a party to a crime. All three are felonies, and if convicted, he faced up to 115 years in prison and/or up to $150,000 in fines.
Online court records indicate he plead guilty to the sexual assault and armed robbery charges. The armed burglary charge was dismissed but read into the record.
During the status conference Thursday, Racine County Circuit Court Judge John Jude told Aldape he would be required to register for life as a sex offender and that the state could petition to have him declared sexually violent, a story in The Journal Times reads. If a court determines Aldape is too dangerous to be admitted back into society, he could be involuntarily committed to a secure mental health facility.
Court records do not indicate how much time Aldape could receive in exchange for his guilty pleas.
Aldape is accused of breaking into a Sturtevant home with two other men in November 2013. While his accomplices took the male resident to at least two ATM machines to withdraw money, Aldape stayed behind with a woman. While he was alone with her, police allege he sexually assaulted her.
He was arrested in November 2014 in Milwaukee for felony firearm possession when police there executed a search warrant at his home. DNA obtained at the time of his arrest matched DNA taken at the time of the incident.
Aldape is scheduled June 6 to be sentenced in Racine County. He was sentenced to three years in prison and 18 months of extended supervision for the Milwaukee firearm case. When he finishes the prison portion of that sentence, he will be transported to Racine to serve his sentence on the rape and armed robbery charges.
