William LockhartRacine Police have arrested a man they suspect shot a 47-year-old Racine man at 11:11 a.m. Sunday on the corner of 6th and Jones St.

William Lockhart, 33, of Racine, was arrested for attempted second degree intentional homicide in the shooting of Darnell Barker, 47, of Racine, according to a press release by the Racine Police Department. He has not formally been charged by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office.

Racine Police Department investigator Rick Toeller said the call came in at 11:11 a.m. Sunday for a report of a man shot at the corner of 6th and Jones Streets.

The man was apparently going to see a friend of his, and he was shot. A woman named Priscilla told Racine County Eye that her friend was the one injured, and he was in surgery Sunday afternoon at Wheaton FranciscanSt. Mary’s.

In a separate case, Lockhart was convicted in 2004 for second degree intentional homicide and released from prison in 2014.
