National Weather ServiceThe National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m. Monday in 17 counties, including Racine County.

A severe thunderstorm watch means that “conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area,” according to the National Weather Service.

A hazardous weather outlook issued this morning for southeast Wisconsin highlighted a “slight risk of severe thunderstorms”  in the afternoon and early evening. Large hail and damaging winds could be an issue with these storms.

The temperature for Monday is expected to be a high of 72 and a low of 43 degrees.
