Surrounded by his loving family, Steve C. Vallone, 84, passed away Saturday at his residence. Steve was born in Racine, May 1, 1932, son of the late Joseph and Bessie (Nee: Maglio) Vallone.
On September 3, 1955 at Evangelical United Methodist Church he was united in marriage to Vannes “Casey” M. Torkilsen. Steve truly enjoyed working and began his career at Massey Ferguson for sixteen years, then J.I. Case Company for thirty years, retiring in 1994. After retirement Steve worked for Erickson’s for over ten years. He was a member of J.I. Case “20 Year Club”. In his younger years he was an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer. Most of all he cherished time spent with his family and friends and especially traveling to Europe and Alaska with his wife.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of sixty years, Casey; his children, Tammy Vallone (Larry) Seaberg, Carrie (Mark) Triebold, Amy Vallone (Tom) Piehler; his seven grandchildren, Jason (Bridget), Justin (Julie), Aaron, Taylor, Emily, Austin, and Alexander; five great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Vallone, Rose (Ron) Schmidt, Carol (Jeff) Pinnow, JoLynn (Bob) Frederickson; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Eli (Marge) Torkilson, Alice Torkilson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph; sister, Anne Reamer; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at the Maresh-Meredith Funeral Home with Rev. Don Francis officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials to the Health Care Network Inc. or to the Racine Public Library have been suggested.
