Oh, the weather was beautiful Thursday, but the weekend promises something very different … like the potential for frost.

Yes, frost.

WISN 12 News Chief Meteorologist Mark Baden posted Thursday night on the news station’s website that a cold front moving in will drop overnight temperatures Friday into the mid-30s and possibly even around freezing Saturday and Sunday night.

“Temperatures are expected to drop into the upper 30s on Friday night, but even colder for Saturday and Sunday nights,” he wrote. “Many inland areas could drop to freezing and frost may be widespread.”

Sensitive plants in either the ground or pots will need to be covered.

Daytime temperatures over the weekend will stretch a little upward into spring, though. The Channel 12 weather team is predicting sunshine and temperatures in the low 50s.
