Thomas HooksThomas Edward Hooks Jr., “Ed”, age 68, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born in Georgia January 16, 1948 son of Thomas and Margaret (Nee: Martin) Hooks Sr.

Tom graduated from Belle Glade High School, Belle Glade, FL., and furthered his education graduating from Tampa College, Tampa, FL. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a submarine sailor from 1966 until 1972. On January 3, 1971, he was united in marriage to Lynn Julian. Tom was employed by John Deere Company in Torrance, CA.

He was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Lynn; sons, Thomas E. (Maria Edelbaum) Hooks III of Huntingdon Valley, PA, Jeremy J. (Melissa) Hooks of Pasadena, CA; granddaughters, Ariel A. Hooks and Giovanna Hooks; mother, Margaret Hooks of Lehigh, FL; brother and sisters, Robert Hooks of Clewiston, FL, Sharon Hooks of Lehigh, FL, Patricia (Curtis) Doub Lehigh, FL; niece and nephews, Nikki Colletta of Milwaukee, WI, Joseph Colletta of Racine, Anthony (Alizah) Colletta of Colgate, WI; other nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas E. Hooks Sr., mother-in- law and father-in- law, Nick and Bertha Julian; and his sister-in- law, Sharon Julian Colletta.

Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and also on Monday at 10 a.m. until time of service at Maresh-Meredith Funeral Home, 803 Main St. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will follow at Graceland Cemetery.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society have been suggested by the family.
