Kids of all ages – big and small, short and tall – put on a show Monday night during the Lakeside bike parade.

Adult volunteers gathered at the Mount Pleasant Police Department’s Lakeside COP house near 23rd and Mead streets to help neighborhood children decorate their bikes with streamers, boas, flags, ribbons, pinwheels and more.

Then, after the the bikes and trikes were all decked out, Ralph Maliki from the Piggly Wiggly on Washington Avenue took the seat on his tractor and led the procession through the neighborhood, and he even brought a trailer with him so children without their own bikes could still participate in the parade.

After the parade, everyone gathered back at the COP house for an ice cream social.
