Suspects sought in credit card clone scam

Caledonia Police are searching for suspects that somehow cloned a Caledonia woman’s credit card and used it at a Target in Wauwatosa on July 26 to buy watches.

Sgt. Jim Gardiner said the Caledonia woman doesn’t know how her card was cloned because she still has it in her possession.

“She doesn’t know how or where it was cloned,” Gardiner said. “But someone must have used a scanner or a reader to get the information and they then make another card.”

The replicated card was then used by the suspects to buy over $700 in Apple watches from the Target store in Wauwatosa. Caledonia Police now have several photos of the suspects, who used a 2007 to 2010 Saturn Aura with an Illinois temporary license plate.

One of the suspects was wearing a White Sox shirt.

If you have any information regarding this theft, please contact Detective Rick Rager at 262-835-4423 ext. 179.
