Congratulations are in order for 63 students who have been named 2016 Advanced Placement Scholars, including one National Scholar.

Advanced Placement classes are college-level and culminate in an exam students can take to qualify for college credit should they score high enough.

Washington Park High School student Alyssa Ertl was named an AP National Scholar, which means she earned an average score of at least a 4 on all the AP exams she took. Additionally, she earned scores of 4 or higher on eight or more exams.

The AP Scholars designation means students have completed three or more exams with a score of three or higher:
