Danai Gurira believes it is every American’s civic duty to not just vote for Hillary Clinton for president of the United States but to get involved in the political process.

“That’s why I’m here,” she said. “I think it’s my civic responsibility for what happens in this country. I know that I stand on the blood, sweat and tears of those who have come before me and that my load is lighter because of them.”

Gurira visited the Racine County Democratic office Wednesday and talked to approximately 25 residents about how important this election is for the future of their families.

“I want the person who wants to move forward, who is about inclusion and not exclusion,” she explained about why she’s voting for Clinton. “She fights for women, for girls and for families. She made it her life’s work. It’s about service, not ambition. We are electing the most powerful person in the world for the next four or eight years, and that is a big responsibility.”
