His name is Louie and soon he’ll join the Caledonia Police Department to help fight crime one bad guy (or gal) at a time as the department’s first K-9 unit.
Officer Corey Radke, Louie’s human partner and handler, has been at Viriginia-based AK-9 Inc. for training since early October. He’ll come back to Caledonia at the end of the month with Louie in tow so that he can start his new job.
The department sold t-shirts, We Back The Badge signs and held fundraisers to pay for the dog, said Lt. Gary Larsen, of the Caledonia Police Department.
Radke chose three names: Thor, Zeus or Louie. But the community ultimately made the final decision. Doesn’t he look like a Louie?
