Artful evening. The year’s final DRAW (Downtown Racine Art Walk) of 2016 is 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday. You’re invited to the Downtown area’s galleries and shops to meet artists, see demonstrations and find a gift or two. Maps can be picked up throughout the Downtown Racine area. See some originals. This month’s Bonk! Performance Series features original poetry and music at the Sixth Street Theatre, 318 Sixth St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Readings from author Matt Hart, poet Roberta J. Hill and a performance by musician B-Free. Free admission. Learn some history. The Friends of the Wind Point Lighthouse invite you to a presentation by Steve Wheeler, author of “An Industry Forgotten: A Half Century of Boat-Building in Racine, Wis.” The story of what was known as the Racine Boat will be told at the Yardarm Bar & Grill, 920 Erie St. starting at 6:30 p.m. Seating is limited. Follow the lights. Spotlights will be sweeping the skies for Light Up the Night, Burlington’s annual shopping extravaganza. It runs from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Participating Downtown Burlington retailers will be open with specials and entertainment. It’s presented by the Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce. Details at www.burlingtonchamber.org
Comedy night. Racine is a stop on the Blind, Crippled & Crazy Comedy Tour. The show, featuring comedians TP Lucas, Ill Will and Sheree Luckett and host Patrick Price, starts at 9 p.m. Saturday at Buono Vita Pizzeria, 3701 Durand Ave. Admission is $15 at the door. A limited number of VIP seats are available at $35.
Enjoy a tradition. The Kiwanis Holiday of Lights will be lit at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Racine Zoo, 2131 N. Main St. This beautiful, elaborate display — an annual fixture at the zoo since 1985 — is set up and maintained by community volunteers led by the Racine areas Kiwanis Clubs. It includes a huge waterfall lit by 33,000 bulbs, a steamboat, a train, animals, toys and Santa Claus. The sale of a collectible ornament (available at the zoo’s gift shop) helps pay for the display’s upkeep. You can see the display from Main through Dec. 31.
Your last chance. “Songs for a New World,” presented by The Haylofters, wraps up its run Thursday through Sunday at the Malt House Theatre, 109 N. Main St., Burlington.
