Songs of the season. The Belle Ensemble presents “An Old Fashioned Christmas” at 7 p.m. Friday at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 2000 W. Sixth St., Racine. This vocal group performs a variety of holiday classics — old and new — from around the world. Free admission; donations will be accepted for the Hospitality Center.
Run for a cause. The fifth annual Stuff the Sleigh 5k has a new location and running course. The run will be held from Texas Roadhouse, 6228 Durand Ave., Mount Pleasant, starting at 10 a.m. Saturday. The timed event goes through the adjacent Stewart-McBride Park and it wraps up with a post-race party. Registration is $35 for adults (includes shirt, finisher medal and awards). A kids fun run is $10. Tex Reynolds’ Toys for Tots will accept toy donations. Veterans Outreach will accept kitchenware, non-perishable food items, personal hygiene products and money donations. Hocus pocus. You’ll be amazed and entertained at The Magic Variety Show 2016 this Saturday at the Gifford School Auditorium, 8332 Northwestern Ave., Franksville. Show time is 3 p.m. There are magical illusions (with audience participation), comedy, juggling, hand balancing, hula hoops and much more. Tickets at the door are $14 for adults; $12 for kids ages 14 and younger. Free kids tickets may be found at Franksville businesses. The Magic Variety Show is sponsored by the Wisconsin Jaycees.
See icy art. The first-ever Burlington Ice Festival brings ice sculpting to Wehmhoff Square Park, 355 N. Pine St., in Downtown Burlington on Saturday. Ice sculptors will go work on 18 blocks of solid ice, each weighing 300 lbs., about 9 a.m. You’re invited to stop by all day and watch the art works take shape with chisels, saws and other hand tools. It’s all free – presented by the City of Burlington.
For the Fourth. Fourth Fest of Greater Racine is holds a beer and wine tasting fund-raiser at the Racine Masonic Center, 1012 Main St. from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $50 per person. The evening includes beverages, gourmet appetizers, a homemade pie auction, photo booth, raffles and music. Optional guided tours of the decorated Henry S. Durand Mansion are $5. Another show. The Belle City Brassworks Brass Band brings its holiday concert, “A Brass Christmas” to Living Faith Lutheran Church, 2915 Wright Ave., next Wednesday (Dec. 21) at 7:30 p.m. The program includes guest performers and a grand finale sing-along. Free admission; donations accepted.
