Charges were filed this week against a CNA suspected of making more than 75 fraudulent transactions on a client’s credit card.

Haley Christman, 22, has been charged with identity theft and theft by acquisition of a credit card for the October incident.

According to the criminal complaint, a Mount Pleasant man discovered $2,398.04 in 75 transactions had been charged to a credit card between Oct. 19 and 24. More than 75 of the transactions were at Amazon, with two others from Glam Bag and Birchbox.

The credit card account holder said he did not make any of those charges, and that he did not know who made them.

However, he said Christman was a CNA who worked for them, and that he had received multiple messages from her apologizing for using their credit card. He said she told him the number had been inadvertently saved on her computer, asked for the amount owed, and that he not go to the police.

The man told police that Christman worked for them until September, but had been fired because she was chronically late to work.

Christman is due to make her initial appearance in January on the charges.
