Everyone will have a challenger in Mount Pleasant, from the village president to the three incumbents, on April 4.

Jerry Garsky, the village president, will be going up against village trustee David Degroot for his leadership of the municipality. Meanwhile, Degroot is also running to maintain his spot as a trustee, and is being challenged by John Martini.

Village trustee John C. Hewitt is running against John Haakma and incumbent Sonny Havn is facing Dale Steeger.

The village president in Mount Pleasant makes $12,500 a year and the trustees make $6,500 a year. Both positions serve a two year term.
