A Rochester man is facing a litany of charges after drunkenly battering a Dover woman Wednesday.

Deputies with the Racine County Sheriff’s Department were called to a house on the 24000 block of Peninsula Drive around 7 a.m. to find Dana C. Hendrix, 45, pulling out of the driveway in a grey Toyota Camry, according to a criminal complaint.

They had originally been dispatched for reports of a man with a gun, and after pulling Hendrix from the car and investigating the scene they found he physically assaulted a victim who lives at the residence during an argument.

Hendrix was intoxicated, and was carrying a holstered gun at the time of the fight, during which the victim sustained injuries to her head and neck from Hendrix choking her.

Deputies found a gun under the back porch, where the victim said she and Hendrix had fallen down in the course of the fight, according to a criminal complaint.

Hendrix is charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, misdemeanor battery with use of a dangerous weapon, operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent, disorderly conduct with use of a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm while intoxicated and driving with a revoked license.

Hendrix has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Jan. 25, and is being held on a $10,000 bond.
