Trade shows, conventions and conferences are all opportunities for your business to showcase its products, but it’s also a time to make an impression. The event is likely stacked with competition, and creating displays for conventions that make an impact can give you a leg up on the rest.

So how do you go about creating a convention display that stands out and really makes a difference?

First, you might want to ditch the crumpled banners and outdated branding materials you’ve used for the last five years. It’s time to take a new approach, and that means keeping all options on the table. Let’s take a look at a few strategies for catching attention at this year’s convention.

Dynamic Content

Dynamic: characterized by constant change, activity or progress.

Use this definition of dynamic to drive your content production. First, your content must change. Use digital displays to cycle through multiple pieces of content. Your display could feature product images, which then transition to testimonials.

Second, your content must show activity. While you should employ a mix of content, including text, using the power of video is almost literally, a no-brainer. The brain processes videos 60,000 times faster than text, making it much easier for visitors to digest information in the hectic environment of a convention.

Third, your content must show progress. It must be able to react and develop in real-time. Conventions often incorporate hashtags on Twitter and are beginning to use Snapchat filters as a way of creating an interactive community. Use digital displays to follow social media patterns and instantly interact through your convention displays.

Create Competition

Conventions are filled with motivated, competitive professionals that also like to have fun. Use your convention displays to connect both of those motivations by creating a game. Puzzles, trivia or memory games are a great way to attract visitors, keep visitors and let them interact with your brand. Touch screen displays are especially effective for creating entertaining games as they mimick the smartphone screen that many people use to play games every day.

Product Demonstrations

In the busy convention setting, it can be difficult to explain to visitors why you believe in your products. You can answer their questions and give them brochures, but do they really understand how your products work? That’s where product demonstrations can go a long way in familiarizing visitors with your brand and products. Digital signs provide a way to display tutorials or videos that show your products in action. It’s the closest thing to the hands-on experience that consumers often crave.

Above and Beyond

When it comes to standing out these events, it’s the businesses that go the extra mile that capture the most attention. Start planning early, and use your creativity as much as possible. Instead of using that same old banner to identify your booth, create an energizing environment with a backlit LED display. These displays give you the ability to manage, customize and create content on the spot while creating a true experience around your brand.
