Racine man led police officers on a car chase Friday night through Mount Pleasant, eventually stopping after eating his marijuana to avoid a possession charge.

Dashontay King, 32, was driving that night without his headlights on. Other drivers tried to signal him, and when a Mount Pleasant police officer attempted to pull him over he attempted to flee.

Police chased him, with other units joining in the pursuit. He eventually stopped at Stoddard Lane, according to a criminal complaint.

He told officers, “He had just eaten a ‘blunt,’” according to the complaint.

He’s charged with eluding an officer and resisting an officer. He’s being held on a $200 bond.
