A suspect in a 2015 armed robbery was recently arrested after police identified him using a cell phone he dropped in the car of his robbery victim.
On October 16, 2015, Reginald G. Turner of Racine, used a handgun to rob a man sitting in his car on the 1500 block of Green Street.
He stole the victim’s cell phone and wallet, and hit him on the forehead with the pistol.
After calling the Racine Police Department, the victim gave them a black and silver phone he found in his car after the robbery.
After getting a warrant, police searched the phone and were able to identify it as Turner’s. The victim later picked Turner out of a photo lineup, and Turner has since been taken into custody.
He’s being charged with battery and armed robbery, and is being held on a $5,000 bond.
