Melissa Brown, who is about love and forgiveness, is one of those people who others seek out when they’ve got trouble on their mind.
I met her a few months ago at the Hospitality Center and she talked about her education, her dreams, and heartbreak. Despite having a myriad of health issues, she remains positive and uses the Hospitality Center because most of her family is either dead or lives out-of-state. Once a trained certified nurses assistant, she has had a number of ongoing health issues that keep her from working.
But it doesn’t keep her from caring about others. She’s not a poor me kinda person.
We talked about love, how she learned about it, who she would be spending time with on Valentine’s Day and above all… what it meant to her.
