“Just because you are from the hood doesn’t mean you are a bad guy.”
Logan Tyler Jr., 35, grew up on the south side of Racine where gunshots and screeching tires were the norm in the 1990s. He sees his life as beautiful now, but it wasn’t always that way. He was in prison three times, has five children, and is focusing all of his attention on working to support them.
“At the end of the day, racism has to do with respect,” Tyler says. “See some white people, and some black people, feel they are higher than other people. They look down on people… To me you can’t look down on nobody because to me we are all equal.”
