Lolli Haws, the superintendent of the Racine Unified School District, is looking for a new job, according to a story by the Racine Journal Times.

Haws, who has been on the job for almost four years, has an interview Thursday night with the Winona Area School District. The Board of Education for the Racine Unified School District extended her contract through June 2018.

Haws put out the following statement:

“I have begun exploring options for the next phase of my career given the one-year extension of my contract by the board. I continue to work with Deputy Superintendent (Eric) Gallien and all the excellent leaders and staff in RUSD. We will continue our work and ensure we sustain the excellent progress and momentum we see our students making.”

The board voted in January not to search outside of the district for another superintendent, but rather named Gallien as her successor.
