The Land and Lakes Development Co. plans to build a 308,000 square-foot speculative industrial building starting this summer in the Park 94 business park.

Part of a 60-acre business park development, Illinois-based Land and Lakes will break ground on the second phase of the project. The recent sale of a 132,000-square-foot spec building to Zilber Property Group spurred on the second phase of the project.

“The Village is pleased that Land and Lakes chose Mount Pleasant for its investment and is experiencing the level of business interest at this location to invest in a second spec building. This investment will be in good company with other growing enterprises including Seda Packaging, InSinkErator and Goodwill Manufacturing,” said David DeGroot, president of the Village of Mount Pleasant.

The area has continued to attract companies looking to expand because the Interstate 94 corridor and low industrial vacancy rates. This has caused a number of developers to start building on speculative development.


“The start of Phase II of the Land and Lakes Business Park solidifies the company’s presence and confidence in our community and will benefit from Racine County’s ideal location in the Chicago-Milwaukee Corridor.
