A man is charged with a number of gun-related offenses after point, and shooting at a car driving down the 400 block of Durand Avenue Tuesday.

Allen Reed, 19, of Racine, was charged by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office with three counts of first degree recklessly endangering safety, five counts of felony bail jumping, one count of possession of a firearm, and one count of possession of an illegally obtained prescription for half an alprazolam police found in his pocket.

If convicted of all charges, Reed faces up to 78 years in prison and fined up to $150,500.

According to a criminal complaint by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office, Mount Pleasant Police responded to a call of shots being fired at 11:17 a.m. Tuesday in a parking lot at Badger Plaza, 4219 Durand Ave.

The building manager told police he saw three men get out of a light blue car that was parked behing the building. He saw Reed run down Durand Avenue pointing a firearm at a car with four people inside it.

“Reed then ran from the scene on foot, running between buildings and the NAPA parking (lot) before crossing Durand Ave.,” according to the complaint.

Officers found Reed on the corner of Durand Avenue and Kentucky Street. When they searched him, they found alprozolam, a drug used to treat anxiety disorders, in his pocket.

Police found a slug and a bullet casing in the area near the shooting.
