A Racine woman was arrested for stealing a vehicle from Faith Adult Community Family Homes, a group home for seniors.

Candace N. Dorsey, 20, stole the vehicle Wednesday and ran into a stop sign at the corner of Linderman and Ohio Street. After she crashing into the stop sign, she fled to Kenosha in the vehicle, according to a criminal complaint by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office.

“An employee of the Community Center stated that the vehicle was taken by the defendant without consent,” the complaint reads.

Dorsey admitted to police that she took the vehicle. She told police she didn’t have a driver’s license and fled because she was scared. The vehicle has been recovered and returned to the community center.

Dorsey was charged with operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent.
