Investigators with the Racine Police Department have made an arrest in the homicide of Harry Canady Jr., who was shot to death outside a home on May 7.

Charges and an arrest warrant were filed by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office against Dominique Knight, 26, on May 9. On Tuesday, Knight was taken into custody. Those charges are pending, according to a press release by the Racine Police Department.

According to Wisconsin Circuit Court records, Knight faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Harry Jr., 20, was shot to death outside a home in the 600 block of North Memorial Drive on May 7. His father, Harry Sr., was banging on the ambulance door, begging them to let him ride in the ambulance with him. But they were still working on Harry Jr., said Tanya Wooden, Harry’s mother.
